We travel in the experience and... beyond

During a wildlife photo-tour in Lake Kerkini, Northern Greece, I was asked what is the necessity of the Pelican's existence for the planet and the natural environment. I did not like to be rude, so I answered the question, but right after I asked what is the necessity of human's existence for the planet. I did not take an answer. Did I know the answer? Possibly not, but on the other hand, maybe the answer is in the art and the architecture, especially when it comes on our eyes and mind as the extension of  the natural environment, and definitely when both do not disturb nature.

We take a boat-trip in Lake Kerkini to photograph the Dalmatian Pelicans, the bird with the widest wingspan, more than 3 meters, between the flying birds, we take a 4X4 ride in the lakeside area to photograph the European Wildcat, a really elusive creature, and the last feline that confirmed still survives in Greece, and the Golden Jackals as well, we travel to Spain to photograph the Iberian Lynx, a wildlife conservation success, and finally we travel to Slovenia and to Romania, on the Carpathian mountains, to photograph the Brown Bears. In between we travel all over Greece and Europe to meet the human history and civilization of the distant and the more recent past, hidden behind the shadow of listed settlements and buildings, monasteries, churches, castles, and archaeological sites.
