We are really excited to bring you this new wildlife photo-tour to Spain to photograph the beautiful and rare Iberian Lynx.
We hope you can join us on this fabulous Iberian Lynx photo-tour to encounter one of the rarest of the world's wild cats.
The Iberian Lynx reflects a fantastic conservation success in Spain. In 2001 there were only 62 mature individuals left in the wild and by 2022 that number had increased to 648.
Today, the total population, including young and mature, is estimated to exceed 2000 individuals, all thanks to the project Life Lynxconnect. The Iberian Lynx was listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List from 2014 through 2024, and in 2024 was reclassified to Vulnerable marking a huge success in the program.
This 5 day Iberian Lynx tour will take place in November, when usually the more moderate temperatures allow the animals to be out in the field all day long.
The first day we meet at Madrid airport and we drive to our base, almost 3,5 hours away. The two next days early in the morning and in the afternoon we visit the photo-hide where we wait for the arrival of the animals.
The cats come pretty close, so lenses of 200-400mm are fine. Definitely, we have to stay silent, making the least noise we can, so as not to scare the Lynx.
We spend the morning of the fourth day taking a ride by car in the National Park, where it is also very possible to see a Lynx, sometimes even very close by.
The Iberian Lynx is not a shy animal, but it is considered one of the rarest cats in the world, and the location we have chosen is one of the few where we can experience an encounter. During our ride we will also have the opportunity to photograph some other wildlife species including, Ibex, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Foxes, Partridges, Wild-Rabbits, Wild Boars, Little Owls, and Otters, as well birds of prey like Griffin & Black Vultures, as well as Spanish Imperial Eagles. For this part we need 300-600 mm lenses.
The fourth afternoon we will again visit the Lynx photo-hide. On the last day we drive back to Madrid airport for our flights home.
We have to underline that as we all know, no one has an appointment with wildlife, so we cannot guarantee that the animals will visit the photo-hide area, or we will have an encounter with a Lynx or any other wildlife species during our car-ride in the National Park.

Lake Kerkini is a wild nature’s paradise, where we can observe and photograph so many different species of birds, as well as wild mammals that live in the lakeside area. Certainly the king of the lake is the Dalmatian Pelican (Pelecanus crispus), the bird with the widest wingspan, more than 3 meters, between the flying birds in all over the world.
Winter is the best period for watching and photo-shooting the pelicans, as this is their breeding period, and the birds are adorned with rich feathers on their head and a unique red color on their beak bag. In the same period almost 6.000 flamingos can be found in lake Kerkini. The activity is running for 2 or 3 hours by wooden, traditional boat, early in the morning or late afternoon, when the lake water and sky is painted with amazing colors, giving some excellent photographic opportunities. Do not forget to wear warm clothes and shoes, hat and gloves, as the temperature in this period early in the morning is usually around -5 degrees C. The meeting point is in the harbor of Kerkini village.
Please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee the encounter with any wild animal, but the activity with the pelicans in the winter is running with a percentage of around 100% success.

The area around Lake Kerkini is a wild nature’s paradise, where we can observe and photograph many different species of wild mammals that live in the area around. We are going deep in the lakeside area for a photo safari, looking for the wild mammals, mainly the Golden Jackals and the European Wildcats. We do not use a hide or baits to attract the animals, so this is real wildlife photography, giving many photographic opportunities.
The search of the wild mammals (mainly Golden Jackals and Wildcats) requires 4X4 vehicles for the tours in the lakeside area and takes place with our powerful, special modified Land Rovers.

A tour for those who would like to meet the multicultural past of the the city's historical center, walking on an open-air museum, visiting Byzantine churches, old mansions, old Ottoman mosques, secret colorful corners, taking picturesque images, learning the trendiest sites for coffee or finger food.
We walk in Plaka, the oldest neighborhood in the world with a continuous habitation, and in the historic center of Athens, meeting the more recent past of the city. Actually, we walk in an open-air museum, in which the exhibits constitute an unbelievable variety of monuments, belonging to several centuries. Medieval Byzantine churches dated in the 11th century, old mansions like the oldest surviving residence in the city, Ottoman mosques dated in the 17th century, a small Aegean island-like settlement within the old neighborhood, secret colorful corners and ancient streets are some of the exhibits of this open-air museum. During our walk we will acquaint the topography of the historic center and its past, and we can have short photo workshops on the spot for picturesque images on ours mobile's or camera's sensors. The tour passes by the trendiest sites for coffee and finger food in the area for the locals, so you can choose one to have some relaxing moments after the tour, feeling the beat of the city. We are photographers, authors and travelers, dealing with the traditional and byzantine architecture for over twenty five years, so we have planned this tour as Athenians to help you to explore our city's past. The tour though passes by important archaeological sites, doesn't include visits, only provides some info for your individual visits.

Περπατάμε το ιστορικό κέντρο της Αθήνας φωτογραφίζοντας και γνωρίζοντας βυζαντινούς ναούς, παλιά αρχοντικά, οθωμανικά τεμένη, όψεις της πόλης από μία άλλη εποχή, τα καλύτερα στέκια για καφέ, ποτό και φαγητό.
Περπατάμε στην Πλάκα, την παλαιότερη γειτονιά στον κόσμο με συνεχή κατοίκηση και στο γύρω ιστορικό κέντρο της Αθήνας, γνωρίζοντας τη σύγχρονη εικόνα του παρελθόντος της πόλης. Συγκεκριμένα, περπατάμε σε ένα ανοιχτό μουσείο, τα εκθέματα του οποίου συγκροτούν μία απίστευτη ενότητα προβάλλοντας όλες τις ιστορικές περιόδους της Αθήνας. Μεσοβυζαντινοί ναοί από τον 11ο και 12ο αιώνα, παλιά αρχοντικά όπως η παλαιότερη σωζόμενη κατοικία της πόλης, οθωμανικά τεμένη του 17ου αιώνα, ένας μικρός νησιώτικος οικισμός μέσα στην Πλάκα, κρυφές γωνιές από άλλη εποχή γεμάτες χρώματα και αρχαίοι δρόμοι είναι μερικά από τα εκθέματα του μουσείου αυτού που θα συναντήσουμε, καθώς εξερευνούμε τον τοπογραφία του ιστορικού κέντρου και του παρελθόντος του. Επειδή όμως όλα αυτά θα θέλουμε να τα πάρουμε μαζί μας, παράλληλα μπορούμε να έχουμε και μικρά, επί τόπου, φωτογραφικά εργαστήρια με συμβουλές για σωστές και ξεχωριστές φωτογραφίες. Ακόμα, περνάμε από τα καλύτερα στέκια του ιστορικού κέντρου για καφέ ποτό και φαγητό, τα οποία μπορείτε να επισκεφθείτε για στιγμές χαλάρωσης μετά τον περίπατο. Είμαστε φωτογράφοι, συγγραφείς και ταξιδευτές, ασχολούμαστε με την παραδοσιακή και βυζαντινή αρχιτεκτονική για πάνω από είκοσι πέντε χρόνια και έχουμε σχεδιάσει τον περίπατο αυτό ως Αθηναίοι που θέλουμε να βοηθήσουμε τον επισκέπτη να εξερευνήσει την πόλη μας και τον παρελθόν της. Αν και ο περίπατος περνάει από σημαντικούς αρχαιολογικούς χώρους, η επίσκεψη σε αυτούς δεν περιλαμβάνεται, παρά μόνο πληροφορίες για την κατ' ιδίαν επίσκεψή σας.

This is an ideal tour for those who like to discover the reflection of the ancient Athenian spirit to more recent times, meeting at the same time this spirit. We walk from the 19th Century, when Athens was designated as the capital of the Modern Greek State, back to the antiquity, hand by hand with the long history of the city through its monuments.
We walk through Athens of the 19th century, seeing the early monuments of the city as a capital, touching upon the source of inspiration, namely, the classical ancient period. During the 19th Century, Athens, the new capital of the Modern Greek State, was adorned with several new buildings, inspired by its distant past. This inspiration remained strong until the beginning of the 20th Century. Some of the monuments that our walk passes by are: The world famous Athenian Trilogy, Neobyzantine buildings, the Troy Mansion and the listed as a landscape monument National Garden of Athens next to the ex-palace. The stadium where the first modern Olympic Games took place, and the hill that the flat stone pulpit, known as "bema", where all the great personalities of the Golden Age of Athens spoke standing on this, is still preserved. This is a real Athenian walk, from the 20th Century to the antiquity, passing by important landmarks and finishing at the hills opposite the Acropolis, the place where it all began. A walk back in time!

An architectural tour in nature in Central Peloponnese. Less than one hour driving from Nafplion and Kalamata, in the heart of south Greece, explore a breathtaking mountain landscape with traditional settlements, gorges and monasteries. Join us to visit together the A zone traditional settlement of Dimitsana with the imposing 18th and 19th century mansions, finding out the Greek traditional architecture and to walk in the gorge of river Loussios, the place that Zeus washed his hair according to Greek Mythology. Into the gorge, that monasticism flourished since Byzantine times, we will visit three monasteries dated in the period from 10th to 17th century, learning about the defensive monastic architecture. Παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική στον αυθεντικά διατηρημένο οικισμό της Δημητσάνας και περπάτημα στο φαράγγι του Λούσιου με τα κρεμάμενα μοναστηριακά συγκροτήματα.
Η παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική της Πελοποννήσου, μέρος της ενιαίας παράδοσης της Νοτίου Ελλάδας, αποτελεί μία εντυπωσιακή ενότητα, την οποία αξίζει να γνωρίσει κανείς. Από τα ανωγοκάτωγα μακρινάρια, με βυζαντινή την καταγωγή τους, ως τους πύργους και από τις πελεκητές παραστάδες ως τις επιγραφές και τα άλλα πέτρινα κοσμήματα, μοναδικά αποτυπώματα της τέχνης των περιοδεύοντων μαστόρων, μας παρέδοσε μορφές δωρικής απλότητας, απόλυτα προσαρμοσμένες στο ορεινό ανάγλυφο του Μωριά. Η ορεινή Γορτυνία είναι ο ιδανικός τόπος για να γνωρίσει κανείς την εν λόγω αρχιτεκτονική. Σας περιμένουμε στον τέλεια διατηρημένο παραδοσιακό οικισμό της Δημητσάνας να περπατήσουμε μαζί κάτω από τα αρχοντικά του 18ου και 19ου αιώνα, ακολουθώντας τους δρόμους που χάραξαν τα μπουλούκια των παλιών μαστόρων. Η περιοχή όμως φημίζεται, ήδη από τα βυζαντινά χρόνια και για την μοναστηριακή της παράδοση. Έτσι η περιήγηση συνεχίζεται στο παρακείμενο φαράγγι του Λούσιου και στα μοναστήρια- αετοφωλιές που είναι χτισμένα στα τοιχώματά του. Περπατάμε στο μοναδικής ομορφιάς φαράγγι και επισκεπτόμαστε τρεις μονές εκ των οποίων η μία βυζαντινή, γνωρίζοντας την μοναστηριακή και αμυντική αρχιτεκτονική. Η διαδρομή στο φαράγγι θεωρείται μεσαίου βαθμού δυσκολίας.
